Hi,

I am a new Joomla user and I would like to insert a discussion board on my site. I headed on the different options and concluded that Fireboard is the best choice.
However, I think that it has too many features that clutters up the presentation. I need a simple and efficient forum. What I mean is that the main important thing is the message, not the person who said it. So I hate statistics, avatar, signatures, status ..., a simple username is enough. There are a lot more but I do not wanna state them because people are different, they are important for others.

So here is my idea:
solution 1:
provide more options in the administration panel

interesting but it is going to be countless
problem
even if someone choose to disable something (for example mydiscussion, or avatar display ...) they are still there but no seen only, so there is no much gain in performance
solution 2:
Give a documentation of how Fireboard works, (name of PHP variables, functions, ...).

This is what GNU is about. That way, it is easier for developers to enable/disable things, improve performance and share ideas.

problem
security risk is higher

Thanks
