Not yet. We\'re working on it but would LIKE to shoot for a NATIVE J1.5/Legacy 1.6 solution.

It\'s all part of the discussion, I think.

I\'m new to Joomla! and my research told me that Fireboard was THE forum component for Joomla! [why isn\'t there a core component - most community website developers would want one, surely???].

Now I have a beta Joomla! 1.5 site for my customer and I find the forum doesn\'t actually work properly without a lot of messing about so, if Agora or - of course, Jerry - any other component can provide a stable and WORKING forum for Joomla! 1.5 I want to hear about it.

It seems crazy I have to run my 1.5 site in legacy mode just because I chose to use Fireboard. The Joomla! extensions directory tells me there are 44 forum components, but Fireboard seems to be the one that most favour.

Personally, I\'ve always used PHPBB, but I want something that is integrated within Joomla! for aesthetic reasons and the practicalities of user logins.

Hi All,

We are working very hard on fireboard.and we already rewrite all codes.

New release will come with a lot of features and will be very strong and fast. Also it will close to ready to joomla 1.5 native mode. Because we rewrite all codes for joomla 1.5

Anyway some important features:
- More flexible group management
- Little queries. For example fb 1.0.4 forum category list have 254 queries on Bestofjoomla.com. New fireboard just have 2 queries for guest , 4 queries for member.
- New message, new forum message, mark read working different and same like smf.
- Subscribe forum category,
- More access for moderators.
- User can delete, edit own post etc.
- multi attachments.
- Ban management,

and too much more....

Our main focus are performance right now. That\'s why we rewrite all codes. %90 is finished. We hope we can release soon.

I will attach some images for you. Please ignore some part of the images which seems have a problem.

Thanks.

We don\'t want any discouraging posts.

Well, this certainly looks interesting GreatPixels, and thankyou for posting.

Hopefully though, you can see why the situation has gotten to where it is. Up until now, we have heard from nobody (except GrumbleMarc). Perhaps you would consider more frequent updates, like once per week, to a pinned thread, even if it is just to say that there is no news to report this week?

Can I also ask, is the new forum online anywhere? It appears in the pictures that you have connected it to this database? Perhaps you could give us the link to look at it.

Also, you say that the new release is 90% finished? So then, could I be so bold as to ask for a ETA for a RC (release candidate)? End of July/End of August? What do you think?

And finally, if you need more man-power to get the job finished, perhaps you could ask for some volunteers?

I have not yet replied to anything on this forum about FB being dead. I am now glad that I have stuck with FB even on the site that I am currently building, knowing deep down inside that something new was on the way. I downloaded the the first version of FB on the day it was released and if my memory serves me right, I was the fourth person to ask a \"How do I?\" question on this board. After seeing the screen shots above I can only say thanks for a great Joomla Forum and keep up the great work! A true FB FAN!!!

Cheers
Dave
