Issue with Ranks Management 10 Years, 2 Months ago
Hi,

I upgraded from 1.0.2RC2 to 1.0.3 (Joomla 1.0.13) with the provided guide. After entering the \'Ranks Management\' I clicked on eg. the \'Platinum Boarder\' rank.

I\'m redirected to the rank editor and get a blank picture instead of the rank picture. The path to this picture is: http://localhost/cms1013/administrator/rank6.gif and the caption of this editor reads \'Edit Smiley\' - not \'Edit Ranks\' ;)
See attached image.

After selecting a new rank or exactly the same from the drop down box the rank image gets restored to this path: http://localhost/cms1013/components/com_fireboard/template/default/images/english/ranks/rank5.gif

The image now displays well. Can sbdy please confirm this?

Hi,

Seems like you are missing some translations, too. Do you run your FB back-end in a language other than English?

If so you should first update/install the appropriate language pack which was delivered inside the ZIP file of 1.0.3.

So you cannot select any rank from the drop down box at all? I had this once before but I played around with some SVN versions and some manually updates. Anyway did you check if you can find the ranks images somewhere in your installation folder?

I don\'t have a running FB right here, but as far as I remember the images are somewhere in the template folder(s) or perhaps in the appropriated language folder. In this case it seems to be related to your missing translations again.

Mayby this help for you...

http://www.bestofjoomla.com/component/option,com_fireboard/Itemid,38/func,view/id,20462/catid,77/

It\'s better do folder on your own languages and move necessary files there if somebody is translate them?

Re:Issue with Ranks Management 10 Years, 2 Months ago
Thanks for your fast reply Roaster. Tranlation is not a priority right now :)

The images are in these locations:

- /public_html/components/com_fireboard/template/default/images/english/ranks/
- /public_html/components/com_fireboard/template/default_gray/images/english/ranks/

Well, that didn\'t work. So now I created another folder called \"dutch\" and this works:

- /public_html/components/com_fireboard/template/default/images/dutch/ranks/

Now I have exactly the same problem as Roaster, the image refers to:

Almost there :)

Hi,

The missing parameter seems to be related to a missing rank image in the drop down box during the save procedure into the database.

Do you by any chance have no rank images in the path(s) like PGLion described some postings above?

If not please try to copy the images from
/components/com_fireboard/template/default/images/english/ranks/

to the appropriate language subfolder, assuming it is german, isn\'t it?

Re:Issue with Ranks Management 10 Years, 2 Months ago
druckgott,

thanks for reporting back.

I would suggest to the translations team to include the rank images into each of the language packs to prevent such issues in future. As there are no language specific text on those images I don\'t see any problems with this.
