First off a disclaimer!!!! I am not responsible if you screw this up because you have difficulty following simple directions.

I put this together rather quickly to get around my hosts cheap shared servers giving me the error 2006 mysql database has gone away messages EVERY SINGLE TIME I TRIED TO INSTALL FIREBOARD!!! Pretty much all I did was strip out the _fbfiles_dist_ and default red, green and gray template directories from the install. I took these lines out of the XML files so the installer is not expecting them and therefore won\'t care if they are gone.

This will throw an error @ line 170 if the install.fireboard.php file after the install is complete but doesn\'t seem to affect anything. Don\'t know if commenting that line out removes the error.

Directions!
Unpack the archive (zip) on your hard drive some where. The Desktop is a good place. If you are an impatient person you will probably NOT have read anything in this text file and will soon be sitting there wondering why it won\'t install. Bad Karma points for you if you post that in the forums.

In the new folder you just extracted you should see 4 items.
1.Fireboard_1.0.4_Slim_Install.zip
2.fbfiles.zip
3.templates.zip
4.Read_Me_First!!!!.txt

First off if you\'ve gotten the 2006 database has gone away error delete both FireBoard directories (folders) from the components and the administrator directories of your Joomla install.

Install the Slim Fireboard. If you must you can also try the installing from directory option. If successful you will get that little error I told you about but it doesn\'t affect anything.

Unpack the fbfiles.zip and upload the contents to the Joomla images directory.

Do the same to the templates archive (optional) but upload them to your FireBoard template folder. If you don\'t plan on using them upload the template of your choice.

That should be it.

No databases were harmed during the making of this movie.
