Lightbox2 Integration 10 Years, 4 Months ago
With lots of photos posted on my site I needed a way to do simple slideshows.

Here is a simple way to integrate the common lighbox (or lightbox2 or slimbox) functionality with Fireboard. The following hack assumes that you have lightbox2 (or similar) already installed in your headers. Follow the lightbox2 installation guide to to that.

You need to edit the file: /com_fireboard/template/default/smile.class.php

And change
[code:1]
$fb_message_txt = preg_replace(\"/\\[0-9][0-9])\\](.*?)\\[\\/img\\]/si\", \"\", $fb_message_txt);
$fb_message_txt = preg_replace(\"/\\[0-9])\\](.*?)\\[\\/img\\]/si\", \"\", $fb_message_txt);
$fb_message_txt = preg_replace(\"/\\[img\\](.*?)\\[\\/img\\]/si\", \"\", $fb_message_txt);
[/code:1]

to
[code:1]
$fb_message_txt = preg_replace(\"/\\[0-9][0-9])\\](.*?)\\[\\/img\\]/si\", \"\", $fb_message_txt);
$fb_message_txt = preg_replace(\"/\\[0-9])\\](.*?)\\[\\/img\\]/si\", \"\", $fb_message_txt);
$fb_message_txt = preg_replace(\"/\\[img\\](.*?)\\[\\/img\\]/si\", \"\", $fb_message_txt);
[/code:1]

Works like a charm! Still need to find a way to get a proper title/caption to every photo.

Check it out in action:

Well - turns out all the interesting code gets stripped out by the forum :(

Send me a PM if you want the code sniplet. I can\'t post the code as it contains HTML tags that are getting removed by the forum - as they should.

Here we go. The modified section of the code is between

//
// fxstein
//

and

//
// /fxstein
//

Should be easy to spot. [file name=smile-081235e87040276fa141e0238c9f04b2.zip size=12056]http://www.bestofjoomla.com/components/com_fireboard/uploaded/files/smile-081235e87040276fa141e0238c9f04b2.zip[/file]

Many thanks to fxstein.

You modify is great one compared to other forum types.
But there is different in header.html file, the code look strange!

Could you give us one more chance with your modify in header of FB?

I\'ve found Lightbox at http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2/ . I can use this one.

Thanks in advance!

P/S: I try to modyfy fireboard.php, It\'s OK, but your modify is better.
Look demo: http://luyenkim.net/home9/index.php?option=com_fireboard&func=view&id=90&catid=34#90

It sounds good!
Could you give us a clue for this!

I also use thickbox (for RSS application) in Joomla, but there is conflict with other Joomla script. So I remove all.

I hope It work well in FB.

Thanks.

Have not tried thickbox. I used to run slimbox but as I went to ClexusPM it stopped working.
Lightbox2 has been working fine for me so far. What\'s the issue with jquery?

Anyway the same hack will basically work for almost all *box implementations with slight modifications...
