Ok few test and here we go
1.) first[size=5] BACKUP!!!![/size]
2.) uninstall FB
3.) go to phpMyadmin drop all FB_ tables
4.) install fresh FB 1.03
5.) go to the component and populate the DB
6.) unzip smf2FB.zip
7.) edit mysql.php file with your DB info
8.) upload smf2FB folder to http://www.yoursite.com/components
9.) go to http://www.yoursite.com/components/smf2FB/index.php once the script is done
10.) go to admin /FB click on \"Recount category stats\"
DONE!

Can I ask what exactly gets converted, or better, what does not?
Attachments, smileys, user groups?

This seems to work good, but I keep getting errors that stop the progress. :(
Such as Invalid query:
INSERT INTO `jos_fb_users` (userid, posts, signature) VALUES (\'498\', \'0\', \'\')
Duplicate entry \'498\' for key 1

You have to drop the existing jos_FB tables before running the smftofb component. It looks like you already had old version of FB installed on your Joomla installation

You mean empty the tables? Because they were empty. If I drop the tables I get:
Invalid query:
TRUNCATE TABLE jos_fb_categories
Table \'jos_fb_categories\' doesn\'t exist

yes drop tables, go to php my admin > your joomla db find all tables with jos_fb click on the check box left on each, scroll down \"with selected\" dropdownbox choose drop
