I currently have a site which consists of a phpbb3(RC3) forum and a bunch of static pages. I\'d love to use Joomla as the base and Fireboard as the forum. My question is, how do I convert?

Invision Power Board has the capability to go [url=http://forums.invisionpower.com/index.php?showtopic=235584&st=0&p=1491962&#entry1491962]phpbb3 --> IPB[/url], and I think I could then convert from IPB --> Fireboard, on that note though, I\'d prefer not to pay for a forum I wouldn\'t use.

Manually moving over the database is an option, but I\'m not sure where to start. I\'m sure the structure of the two differ significantly.

Are there any other options? It be great if someone could provide me with a rough outline on how to convert.

I can\'t find a converter for any forum that currently supports RC3 and higher. The current impex converter only supports RC2 and down. I don\'t know how much difference there is between 2 and 3 but if it\'s much, then I think you\'ll have to wait until the next version comes out. The IPB conversion is listed as a paid conversion. I think that the impex converter for vb will be your best bet once it supports RC3.

AFAIK, You can convert phpBB3 to phpBB2.
From phpBB2, you can possibly go to FB (dont know the status of that converter) or you could convert phpbb3>phpbb2>smf>fb... but from my exp with the smf>fb converter, you may have a few issues.
You don\'t need to purchase vB.

I haven\'t been able to find a phpBB3 to phpBB2 converter. Converting to phpBB2 sounds good but I\'m not sure a converter exists. So far it looks like only IPB and vB can convert phpBB3. Thanks to everyone for there help. I really appreciate it.
