yeah but when you click to discuss if you\'re the first responder you show up at a blank page...

If I get a vote I would definitely vote for the option to have the original post repeated. I\'ll give you three good reasons!
1) It \"feels\" better for many posters to have the discussion already going. Having an initial post gets past the \"first post problem.\"
2) It is very helpful for a poster to have the original article there so that they can respond to it. On many sites you get fairly heavy-duty responses--got to have the source material available for reference.
3) Viewers coming in from the Internet to the Forum first will have not seen the original post. They won\'t understand the discussion. They\'ll have to exit the discussion, go read the post, and then come back (if they figure out that they need to do this in the first place). Not good for encouraging reader participation.
Please give us the option!

Any input from the developers? At this point I\'m copying each news story and pasting it in as the first reply, which works allright unless I change something in the story and then have to go update the thread.

I suggest same changes. It would be nice to post original entries in threads. :)

I would like to see the original post echoed in the forum discussbot post too. :)

thumbs up from me too.
Would be better to have the article in the forum as well. Might be a double entry but it doesn\'t get you there always from the front page.
Some, many and most would open the threat within the forum and not from the page. Especially if the threat is been opened while someone is in the forum already. By visiting the new thread it\'s like forcing them to go on first page to see what\'s written so that they can discuss it ;)
other than that, I find the bot excellent. way to go
just my 2 cents :cheer:
