Hello All, Here is a little simpler fix for your issue. It bypasses having to go into phpMyAdmin.
Please follow the following link to view the Joomla 1.0 Work around for adding Link URLs into sub categories, and have them available in the module manager to attach modules to.

This is meant to be a Joomla 1.0 Work Around, so it should work for any component.
You are just creating a LinkURL menu item, and this is fooling it, to think its a component to let you choose it, in the menu manager, giving you the ability to assign modules to it.
